Is the Quick Settings panel more a hindrance than a help? Here’s how to get rid of it in Windows 11.
The Quick Settings menu is a helpful feature in Windows 11 that lets you access some commonly used settings on your computer. It provides quick access to many useful services, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and accessibility.
Despite being a useful service, you might not get as much mileage out of it as others. As such, if you prefer a clean and simple interface, then here’s how you can remove Quick Settings in Windows 11.
If you find the Quick Settings tiles annoying or you just don’t need them, you can remove them via the Group Policy Editor. However, the Windows Home edition doesn't come with the Group Policy Editor by default. If you're in this boat, be sure to enable the Group Policy Editor in Windows Home before continuing.
After you complete the steps above, restart your computer for the changes to take effect.
If you wish to enable Quick Settings again, go back to the Local Group Policy Editorand set Remove Quick Settings to Disabled again.
You can also remove Quick Settings in Windows 11 via the Registry Editor. Before you proceed, you should know that editing the registry can be risky, and if you don't know what you're doing, you can do serious damage to your system. So, if you don't know much about editing the registry, let a professional do these steps for you.
If you do decide to go on ahead, you should back up your registry in case something goes wrong. Once done, perform these steps to remove Quick Settings using the Registry Editor:
After making the changes above, close the Registry Editor window and restart your computer. When your PC starts up, press Win + A. If nothing happens, you've successfully disabled the Quick Settings panel.
To enable Quick Settings on your Windows 11 computer again, double-click on DisableControlCenter and set Value Data to 0. After that, restart your computer to bring Quick Settings back again.
If you're not a fan of Quick Settings, it's easy to hide it away. Now you know how to disable it, as well as how to bring it back if you end up missing it.
